by Jimmy Calhoun

Want to play a new game this summer? Out this week is a new release by Nintendo for one of its great new Wii games for 2009 - the new Wii Sports Resort, based on the old Wii Sports.

You'll find that there is a lot from the old version in this one, Wii Sports Resort, which provides an update to the former Wii Sports game that usually came bundled with many Wii console packages at the time when Wii console had first been released a couple years back. The Sports Resort game includes some new sports, and has new features which all take full advantage of the new Wii MotionPlus accessory, also being released this month.

The new MotionPlus accessory is an attachment to the Wii controller which adds a whole lot more control for players when they move the motion sensitive Wiimote Wii controller through the air. Using the new accessory, this new Wii Sports Resort game adds 12 different sports, to use the MotionPlus for games such as archery, swordplay, jet skiing, and sky diving which were not in the previous version.

In some of the recent reviews by game sites on the Web, they are saying that the new games will really use the new MotionPlus technology in a creative way, yet really don't go far enough because they leave the player feeling like they want to do much more with the new controller accessory and the games. In the new included games such as swordplay and archery, there are useful ways the better control feature makes the game more interesting.

Also, it enhances the older games too including bowling and golf which have been improved to make them more fun using this version. There has been some disappointment though among reviewers since there are some technical issues apparently which cause problems, for example having to recalibrate the controller all the time. It's also being said that not all games, for example the wakeboarding game and piloting a plane, have come out as interesting as they could be compared to the swordplay and archery games.

While it's true that some gamers might get more bored than other players with just another sports game, or some more mini games, but still there is a reason to try out the new controller MotionPlus accessory with Wii Sports Resort. For most gamers, it's likely they will enjoy adding Wii Sports Resort to their collection and have fun using the new Wii MotionPlus accessory.
