While many people consider the Beatles the greatest rock band of all time, and they might just be, there is a justifiable debate on which band is the second greatest. The Rolling Stones were influenced by early American rock, primarily by African-American artists, as well as blues and jazz. The styles of music created by these two iconic bands differed greatly, but both continue to be extremely successful.

The Beatles made the choice to call it quits when they were at the top of their game, at their most popular, fueling the fire with the consumers for the next four decades because they couldn't get enough of them. The Stones went the other way and continued making records and touring well past their creative prime. This can be good and bad. Bad because you never want to see a band or athlete or anyone with talent performing at anything less than 100%, but good in the fact that the fans still got to see the band. I am sure that there are millions of fans that would kill to see The Beatles at 50% of their abilities.
